Verdant Works and the Scouringburn

Start outside McManus at the Queen Victoria statue and take take a guided walking tour along the route of the Scouringburn past textile mills and other buisinesses that relied on it as a source of water for steam power from 1793 onwards.

Led by Mark Watson of Historic Enviroment Scotland. The tour will finish at Verdant Works with the opportunity to enjoy our café and see the current special exhibitons: 

Piston Pen and Press looks at Victorian industry workers and their relationship with literary culture can be viewed in our downstairs special exhibition gallery.

Art of Work, an exhibition of Paintings, prints and 3D artworks by artist Pam Kelly examining the theme of people at work and the relationship between workers and employers is in our upstairs special exhibition gallery. 

Entry to the rest of the museum will require a paid ticket.
