Hand Harpoon recovered from a dead whale. The harpoon head is made of iron and has a sharp point with barbs designed to catch in the whale's flesh. The metal part of the shaft has been twisted into coils like a corkscrew, giving some impression of the struggle put up by the whale and the dangers faced by the whalers.
