Photograph of Bomb Damage on Rodger Street, Cellardyke
- Object Name
- Photograph
- Description
This image was taken shortly after the 25th of October bombing raid on the nearby village of Cellardyke in 1940. Luckily, no one lost their lives in the raid, but Rodger Street was heavily damaged, including some outhouses used by local fishermen. Scenes like this were seen up and down the UK and throughout the War. It is an example of how war changed the domestic landscape; homes and livelihoods were destroyed, and communities changed.
