ARP Whistle
- Description
Whistles like this were standard issue for Air Raid Precaution Wardens or ARP Wardens during WW2. It is estimated that over one million whistles like this were produced throughout the War. When the sirens began, the ARP Wardens would sound the whistle, which could be heard up to a mile away. These whistles would alert the public to danger to indicate that it was time to get into a shelter.
