Mapping Scotland industrial collections and subject-specialist knowledge

It's widely understood that local and national government budget cuts have resulted in the loss of museum staff and resources. The true extent of reductions in collecting and expertise is not accurately being measured. This mapping exercise hopes to address this by gathering data that will inform the work of Industrial Museums Scotland during a time when there is growing uncertainty over the role of museums and the ways they are resourced. The headline results can been seen in this report. We intend to use this data as a baseline to record changes to capacity moving forwads.
