- Description
Carvel built boat of Scottish East Coast design. The wheelhouse is positioned slightly to one side so she can be used for either ring or drift netting and her large rudder allowed her to turn easily.
Her bow can be compared to a parrot's nose because of the small turn in at the top. Being also rounded it let her cross over her nets if she got caught up in them. She remains largely unchanged from her launch at William Weatherhead's of Cockenzie in 1934.
Used for ring netting in the Forth and later an early form of white fish seining between herring seasons and latterly crab creeling and prawn trawling. In 2000 she was recognised as being a boat of pre-eminent national significance by the National Historic Ships Committee.
