Christmas card, produced as part of the Discovery Oceanographic Expedition. Outer card with Discovery crest, thread ribbon tied paper insert with drawing of "R.R.S. Discovery at whaling station, S. Georgia." Hand written "to Hope and Noel" and signed J.E. Hamilton and without additions to Grytriken addresses.
Christmas card, printed, sent from Hugh Robert Mill. Complete with quotations from Rudyard Kipling. Dated 25 December 1901. Sent to Thomas Hodgson, biologist on the Discovery expedition 1901-04 who was to provide the first descriptions of the deep sea floor communities in the Antarctic.
