- Description
This poster advertises the importance of Methil Docks as a port for shipping coal. It was produced by the London and North Eastern Railway company, which became the owner of the docks following the amalgamations created by the 1921 Railways Act. Railway companies owned significant amounts of property not directly related to railways including docks, houses, hotels, ferries and so on. The poster was created by Frank H. Mason, an artist who in 1927 was one of five artists given contracts by the LNER to create railway posters.
